The MGR Foundation is dedicated to creating and supporting programs and initiatives that improve our many diverse communities and better the lives of their inhabitants. It is our Foundation's goal to continue to push boundaries and to evolve conceptions of giving by assisting others and giving without need of return, remaining committed to action and change, and always enriching life and encouraging the future.

Our health & well-being programs aim to support local and global communities in their efforts to become more healthy and active. By developing innovative initiatives that challenge healthy living, we seek to spark the love of fitness and wellbeing in the lives of our program participants.
Team M3: The MGR Foundation Mentoring Marathon
Team M3 unites adult mentors with at-risk high school students to successfully complete the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon. Together, student and mentor will develop relationships that last well beyond the finish line. Team M3 provides our mentors and students with the support and encouragement that they need to reach their goal. Our mission is to challenge students to experience the benefits of discipline, character development, and improved health by providing them with adult mentoring and the best experience to realize their full potential.
Willpower Teen Pregnancy Prevention
WillPower engages students in positive modeling behavior through peer theatre, coupled with sexual education and parental involvement. We present a series of interactive improvisational-mini plays whereby negative sexual behavior is demonstrated and positive behavior is then modeled by program participants. This is supported with factual information and discussion that is reinforced through our after-school activities.

Our education & youth development programming focuses on at-risk youth and their development into productive, fully-participating citizens. We fuse tutoring, mentoring and community building theatre techniques to provide young adults and children with the tools to achieve their dreams.
THINK (The Hope In New Knowledge) [Chicago | Pittsburgh]
THINK provides organized and focused tutoring/mentoring for truly at-risk students. Our tutor/mentors guide students through locally and nationally established basic skills, homework review, and mentoring activities. THINK's emphasis on mentoring fosters confidence and provides skills crucial to building a lifelong commitment to learning. By combining tutoring and mentoring, THINK offers real opportunities for personal growth and educational excellence.

Our volunteering & community development programs bring together people from all generations and socio-economic backgrounds to provide quality and dynamic volunteering and community development activities.
CareTeam
The spirit and mission of the CareTeam is to remove all barriers from the volunteering experience and involve individuals in direct service to the community through innovative and enriching events. All of this is accomplished with absolutely no fees, no fundraising, and no barriers for our volunteers. Through volunteering and community involvement, no social problem should continue to go unchallenged.
Growth
Growth is a program that harnesses the combined talents and experience of corporations, non-profits, and individuals to create small- and large-scale development, from building community centers to aiding in local neighborhood cleanup projects. By bridging the gap between corporate and community ideas, Growth helps to build resources and services designed to empower a community and its people.

Our arts & humanities programming seeks to change development trajectories by introducing at-risk youth to advanced humanities education and arts initiatives aimed at challenging poverty, violence and hopelessness. Through a series of different media, we develop and advance at-risk programs that engage the mind, body and spirit.
Murals
Murals uses visual arts, drama, music, dance and spoken word to engage at-risk youth, their families and communities, with positive choices and constructive alternatives. These forms of creative expression provide an opportunity for at-risk youth to examine their lives and communities, and reconsider their by opening minds and expanding horizons.
